Cartoonist . Printer . Designer Hi, my name is Ryan and I'm a student at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Welcome to my blog where I mostly post art I make and sometimes I'll post cool stuff that inspires me or process stuff. Enjoy!

I’ve been studying color a lot lately and I drew this Yurmby color wheel the other day for fun. I wanted to see what would happen if I tried drawing one using  yellow, red, magenta, blue, cyan, and green markers and mixed all the other colors with hatching.

Ptera-Ninja 1

This is the first of a series of intaglio prints I did when I first learned how to combine relief rolls and etching, last spring. The plates from these prints are from a larger intaglio print I did that used multiple plates. I prefer the prints I made using the plates separately though, so I don’t know if I’ll post the original print, but maybe. The plates from Rivalry End are also from that larger print.

Happy New Year!!!

This is my new record player; it was a Christmas present from my mom!!! For the past few days I’ve been listening to my dad’s old record collection that was stashed away in our attic, and my favorite thing to listen to so far has been Simon and Garfunkel in Concert in Central Park. It’s amazing how good these records sound after being in the attic for so many years. I can’t wait to get back to Minneapolis and stop by Tree House Records and the Electric Fetus and pick up some records of my own. I really want to get the Kiss Each Other Clean and Endless Numbered Days albums by Iron & Wine; and the Late Again album by Peter, Paul and Mary on vinyl. But what REALLY want to get is the entire Free Design discography on vinyl! I don’t know if I’ll be able to find all of that stuff, especially The Free Design albums, but I’m looking forward to hunting them down.
